Majority in U.S. Want Wealth More Evenly Distributed ( 52% support heavy taxes on rich) Instead of having the government steal it for you, go out and work for it whining, deadbeat a-holes.
From what I've seen in life, the whiners and redistribution folk aren't the most ambitious lot when it comes to working.

fairness demands that loopholes be closed. The most revenue can be raised by adjusting the standard deduction downward

Perhaps a better question would have been: Do you believe you should be able to keep your hard earned money or do you believe the government should be able to take your money and give it to people who won’t work?

52% of Americans prefer that the government act as thief-by-proxy on their behalf. Saves all sorts of risk and inconvenience.

Not surprising since 52% is close to the actual plurality achieved by the Obamanation in 2012.

This doesn’t work, because of the Laffer curve. But what does work is to give investors higher taxes on more “gambling-like” investments, like derivatives, to dissuade them; and lower taxes on investments that benefit society, like research and development.
Also, they need to tighten the rules of donations to non-profit organizations to direct the flow of charity funding to charities that help people, not just give an easy tax deduction.

Then they should ask these same people if it’s alright to take money from people who are richer than they are and give it to them. We’ll find out who the real commies are and if this country is worth saving.

This, in a nutshell, is why Obama won. Hes promising to take from the rich and hand it to the middle class. Hes promising to expand disability and food stamps until pretty much anyone who doesnt want to work can live for free off the backs of the productive. 80 years of the Welfare State have given way too many Americans a mindset of gimme gimme gimme and make the rich pay for it. Not just the poor, but a lot of middle class people too. Its why we are in decline. People dont want to work and produce. They want to live the good life off someone elses dime. Oh, how far we have come. Back in the day, no one on disability or food stamps would ever have been considered "middle class".
