Just about the entire premise for this article is that it took 20 minutes for the first police to arrive on the scene. That’s not true. It took about 3 minutes from the time the first 911 call was made for the first police to arrive (the Newtown police station is about 2 miles away from the school).
This article uses CNN as its source for the 20-minute timeline. Every outlet that uses the 20-minute response has gotten it from the incorrect CNN timeline. The original radio reports clearly demonstrate the police arrival was a mere few minutes after the first call, not 20.
Of course, Lanza was already dead for several minutes by then.
25 minutes is an eternity for helpless, unarmed victims to try and avoid an armed predator. And, as you say, that 25-minute effective response is in a densely-populated NE state, with the police station 2 miles away. In a rural location, waiting for the cops is suicide mission.
The radio scanner timelines show the fed LEs to be at the school or firehall much earlier tan the shooter arrived @ the school....it is A SCAM!
“The original radio reports clearly demonstrate the police arrival was a mere few minutes after the first call, not 20.”
Exactly correct. Recycled bad data.
