"Professor?" Righhhht! Instructor, lecturer or part-time teacher maybe. A lot of college salaries suck but I doubt there is any full professor in the US making only $40k.

I thought that stuck out like a sore thumb too. I cannot imagine a tenured professor working for a whole year for a gross amount that after taxes would only pay for a low end new car with nothing left to buy gasoline. $3,333.33 monthly for a tenured professor? That ain’t squat.

She may have acquired some sort of "tenure", and she may have impeccable academic credentials for teaching Math despite her other shortcomings, but in any case, a full-time professor would not make $40K per year.
