With Senate support for the Manchin-Toomey "compromise" continuing to slide, Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Pat Toomey (R-PA) appear willing to revert to gimmicks to try to squeak the bill through.
(snip)
To stop the momentum shift before it is too late, Manchin and Toomey are "considering the possibility of adding language to the bill that would exempt select far-flung communities in Alaska and North Dakota from some background check requirements." They hope this would win the votes of Sens. Mark Begich (D-AK) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), as well Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND).
If being exempted from the bill is what makes it attractive enough to vote for, what does that say about the bill?

Equal Protection clause? Absolutely.
Now, not only Toomey deep in RINO-land, he's engaging in open treachery. POS. Turns out Rick Santorum was right not to back this turncoat in 2004.

And “exemption” says it all.
It’s either the same rule for all- - or for none.
Liberals (and RINOs) are slime.
Slime.
Slime.

Toomey looking less and less ‘respectable’ .....

adding language to the bill that would exempt select far-flung communities in Alaska and North Dakota from some background check requirements. That's really stupid.

Not sure if intended, but your “slime” appears to be dripping down the page. :)

How in the hell is this even legal? Seriously, it sounds like a blatant political bribe for votes.

"I am embarassed to have Toomey represent me. He is nothing but a Traitor."I feel your pain...here in the mitten we have Stabenow and (Comrade) Levin. These two might as well have "I LOVE MARX" tattooed on their foreheads. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't feel it.

Folks are holding out hope this thing fails, but they are exhausting so much energy and time on this thing that they most likely will in fact pass something and it will be some kind of infringement. I bet the House even goes along with it and perhaps even makes it worse.

Equal Protection clause? But you know how this Roberts court would resolve that conflict - the law stands but "no exemptions for you".

THEY are NO idiots. They know they can get away with it. Libs control just about everything.
It is the public they hope to fool, so that people in those states won’t pressure their senators.
