There are probably hundreds to thousands of pressure cookers purchased in the Boston area every week

Actually of the type they I.D.'d in this case far fewer. Not sure of the number, but is was under a hundred. Basic police work to run them all down- even if was thousands.

Ok, I’ll give you fewer when it comes down to a specific brand and model number. Granted criminals can be dumb and make mistakes, one would think they’d know these days not to buy any stuff from their neighborhood store.
