The wife of a former Kaufman County Justice of the Peace was taken into custody early Wednesday morning and charged with capital murder in relation to the deaths of Mike and Cynthia McLelland and Mark Hasse. Kim Lene Williams was arrested just before 3:00 a.m. and is now being held on a $10 million bond.
Her husband, Eric Williams, was arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly making terroristic threats against city officials. He is being held behind bars on a $3 million bond. Sources told CBS 11 News that Williams is also expected to be charged with capital murder in relation to the deaths.

Never never never do a crime with a woman. She gets the plea deal, and her testimony sends you to the chair.
In fact, i don’t ever remember a single instance of a man of the duo getting the plea deal and the woman being the main one they go after. It’s almost comical that it’s so predictable.

This article has one neat tidbit about Williams: his conviction for stealing the computer monitors was based on a surveilance video showing him doing it. That means it looks like the prosecution wasn’t some witch hunt.

I thought everyone used laptops these days - in a few years people will ask “what is a computer monitor”?

Many people like myself, with large hands, and fingers find a laptop, let alone a tablet, very frustrating and near impossible to use..

For the record the following link is to the Kaufman County Jail web site detailing the charge info on Eric Williams. He isn't currently charged in the murder but may well be later on. Kim Williams isn't currently in the Jail Records but will be soon, I expect.

Somewhat unrelated question: Recently, there have been several hi-profile cases, like this, where the defendants have been held on multi-million dollar bonds.
Why is that? If ever a case screams REMAND this is it. So, why don't the prosecutors just ask for no bail?

Hey Ken - nice to see you. I guess the word “monitor” reminded me of the old huge pieces of junk instead of the newer sleek ones that look like a tv. I assume he was stealing the new ones... lol, but I stand corrected. Thanks

I have no idea other than what the current charges are may require a bail option be available. I’m sure local, state and federals guidelines have instructions regarding bail but I have no idea what they are.

Wrapping a towel around the neck and shoulders is SOP when having a mug shot taken. I think they do it to emphasize the face.

When it was discovered the Texas Justice of the Peace was arrest in this case and not the Aryan Brotherhood, it made page 17 of the LA Times.
This was clearly not what they wanted.
