I seem to recall reading various books by older vets that phenobarbital was the preferred humane euthanasia drug for animals. Too damn kind for prisoners!
This will probably result in a 13 year court battle over the claim that the FDA has not found the drug to be “safe and effective”.
From what I understand a Brit company bought the pharma firm that made the old drug and now refuses to sell it for executions.
