Why does an abusive trough feeder in a uniform deserve to keep a job he clearly can’t cope with?

Were an employee of a private company behave in a manner likely to result in a lawsuit, said employee would have his position terminated before the coffee break after management learned of the situation.

The position of reasoned & prudent management is something to the effect of: “If you want to be an overbearing ass, do it on your own time.”

He could be a rookie.

Your probably right about that. This officer could have easily ended up killing someone for no good reason. If he had then I think there would be no question about dismissing him from the force, probably even bring him up on charges of his own.

Maybe something in between is appropriated, being ignorant of the law when your a law enforcement officer is not a good thing, it is unacceptable when your enforcing non-existent laws.
