My first impression was, “Why would he want to trespass?” The only reason I could think of would be to see the kids. But cheating on your wife has consequences and once of them is limited time with your kids. How sad. Wonder if he’s sorry yet? In the meantime, why would the voters elect him? Crazy!!!
Maybe, but I think it's more likely he wanted to "take back" some object he had to leave behind when he deserted his wife.
Like a favorite tool, or some sentimental object.
