Thatcher Has Left Hurt And Anger, Says Funeral Dean
Valentine Low, Roland Watson and David Taylor April 16 2013.
The Dean of St Pauls Cathedral entered into the debate over Baroness Thatchers legacy yesterday when he said that Britain has not recovered from the hurt and anger caused by her policies.
The Very Rev Dr David Ison, who will give the bidding at the former Prime Ministers funeral service tomorrow, added that the memory of her policies was being revived by the present Government in its attempts to reduce the deficit.
There is some real work to be done here about whats the relationship between the rich and poor in our society, he said.
Dr Isons remarks came in an interview with CNN International, to be broadcast today, when he was asked if the funeral was a great moment in British history.
I think its emblematic of a particular point in British society, he said. You have to ask yourself the question why it is, 23 years after she left government, Margaret Thatcher is still such a controversial figure and I think part of the answer is we still havent come to terms with the hurt and anger many parts of society have felt because of the legacy of her policies.
None of the four surviving American Presidents Jimmy Carter, George Bush Sr, Bill Clinton and George Bush Jr will attend the funeral. Nor will Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton. Instead George Schultz, President Reagans former Secretary of State, is expected to attend on behalf of the Obama Administration. Michelle Bachmann, the failed Republican presidential hopeful who said I want to be Americas Iron Lady, will be part of a three-person delegation from the House of Representatives.

the ongoing push by commies in your educational system is the reason for the continued ‘controversy’
they will continue bashing anyone not in line with the policies ... forever.
there is a reason the west was against communism
Amen
The Queen needs to retire this leftist loon, the Very Rev. Dr. David Ison!
I wonder what “The Very Rev. Dr. David Ison” will think of Lady Thatcher’s policies after St. Paul’s Cathedral becomes a mosque?
Well, yeah the people who were destroying Britain would be hurt and upset by Lady Thatcher’s success.
He’s helping pave the way to make THAT a reality.
More like “very irreverent”. When you have cathedral deans speaking ill of the dead as if they were uneducated boors, you know your church has been weighed in the balances and found wanting.
Would he have a head on his shoulders to ponder the question if such an event occurs?
It is Satan’s desire to hate Thatcher and the liberty she stood for.
>> None of the four surviving American Presidents
Shame on all of them.
Yeah. Among the bad guys.
I won’t say what I’m thinking about obama for not sending a government representative. I really don’t like jail.
I will say I can’t see how anyone could still like this guy after this snub. Then I have to remember they still loved him after he bowed to the Saudi King. But, why be surprised? People voted for him after they knew he said he’d side with Islam. Is it denial or just plain stupidity?
Stupidity. Most of the people who voted for Obama know nothing about him only what the media told them which was nothing. The people who knew who Obama was and what he stood for did not vote for him.
Dirtball. He’s probably gay too.
ANother leftist jerk. I’m getting so sick of them. By the way, why can’t Bush Sr. go? I think it might be appropriate if he went, having been somewhat contemporaneously in office.
He'll probably have his ass in the air. He probably already does.
Britain continues on its way to economic collapse because the leftists in control are not willing or able to continue the sensible policies of the great Margaret Thatcher. Thus all they can do is continue their campaign of hate. Maybe they will never connect the dots.
God Bless the late Baroness Margaret Thatcher.
Good Lord, these people are nuts. There isn’t any event that they don’t take as an opportunity to advance their political agenda. So now they’re “remembering” Thatcher by criticizing her. How apt for her funeral.
