Just hours after explosions rocked the Boston Marathon on Monday, Chris Matthews speculated, "Normally domestic terrorists, people, tend to be on the far right." He then reconsidered and suggested, "...That’s not a good category, just extremists, let’s call them that." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
During live coverage, the Hardball host highlighted a possible explosion at John F. Kennedy's presidential library and thought this could be a personal attack on the Democratic Party: "...But going after the Kennedy Library, not something at Bunker Hill, not something from the Freedom Trail or anything that kind of historic, but a modern political figure of the Democratic Party. Does that tell you something?" (Police are now considering the incident at the JFK library to be fire-related.) One can only guess what it tells Chris.
Chris Matthews: 'Normally' Domestic Terrorists 'Tend to Be on the Right'
Has Matthews not heard of left-wing domestic terrorists such as William Ayers or the Weather Underground?
[Thanks to the MRC's Jeff Meyer for assistance with the video and transcript.]
A transcript of the April 15 segment is below:
5:17pm ETCHRIS MATTHEWS: Let me ask you about domestic terrorism as a category. Normally, domestic terrorists, people tend to be on the far right, well that’s not a good category, just extremists, let’s call them that. Do they advertise after they do something like this? Do they try to get credit as a group or do they just hate America so much or its politics or its government that they just want to do the damage, they don't care if they get public credit, if you will?
MICHAEL LEITER: What we'll see over the coming couple hours and days is lots of people taking credit for this. We'll probably have al-Qaeda take credit for it. We'll have domestic terrorists take credit for it. And it will be the responsibility of the FBI and the Boston police to figure out if any of those are actually real cases like Timothy McVeigh destroying the Oklahoma City courthouse federal building; no one took credit for that. So it might be some time or never that someone actually takes credit for this. Lots of people will say they were responsible for it.
MATTHEWS: I was just thinking, again, it's early; it's an early situation, but going after the Kennedy Library, not something at Bunker Hill, not something from the freedom trail or anything that kind of historic, but a modern political figure of the Democratic Party. Does that tell you anything?
This is why I tell people to be very careful what they say on FR.
It is a monitored site, by both the State and the Media. You can bet they are hoping to find something here to tie it in.
He's already leftist. How much worse could it get??
So was 911 foreign? Or domestic? Or both?
Chrissie apparently forget the 19 had been here for quite awhile
Contrary to Chrissy's claim, the far left has perpetrated far more acts of domestic terrorism.
Moreover, the far left embraces their terrorists, as Obama embraces Bill Ayers.
Plain and simple, MSNBC is an insane asylum run by the inmates.
Really.
How come they never seem to talk about all the environmental terrorist groups.
I’m thinking those tend to be on the left.
What about the ELF, Anarchsits, Weather Undergroud, Black Panthers, New Black Panther Party, SDS. And lets not forget all the terror groups that pervade all around the world. Does the FARC ring a bell.
How does that network even exist?
Has this guy ever heard of the FALN?
The blithering idiot should be fired
This ass knows he’s lying. He’s playing on new Americans who have not lived through the history he’s lying about. I would say something evil right now but then I would feel bad later so I will stop. Sissy is going to get his one day.
Most of us will see this change in our lifetime. We will witness a rapidly expanding tyranny that either achieves it's goal, or is resisted by enough people to stop it. They will more than likely stop new supplies becoming available as a way to disarm us, while we sit in our homes threatening to vote them out using a broken system that no longer acts according to the Constitution, and will only get worse.
Many will make excuses for why they will never risk anything. They will have an excuse to not fulfill their duty to fight tyranny, even if there is an effective avenue available to do so. If the things we need to arm ourselves are slowly taken away we will all lose. Even if you are allowed to keep your stockpiles they will be taken after your death. Many will still exist inside the country for a long time, but the fight will already be lost if there is never enough support to resist. We have to keep those supply lines open and available for future generations, or they will not have this right.
We also have to survive the media lies and slander, and remember they are one of our most powerful enemies. For now, in my opinion anyway, we should organize armed, but peaceful, protest using acts of civil disobedience. We have to use new tactics, and take more risk to have any chance. Then we go from there according to whatever happens.

Law enforcement spent one million dollars just in the phase of the investigation to try and link Timothy McVeigh to “right wing” groups. They didn’t come up with the answer that the left wanted by proving that there was no link.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
I know exactly what you mean. If I was a relative I would have wanted to very carefully have something done about those two and their friends. I can't figure out how these two are still around after all the stuff they pulled. And they are proud of it.
