The are already subject to regulation. Plus they are basically rc aircraft and sometimes carry cameras.

Yep, and #2 bird shot plays holy hell on them.

I have wondered what a green or red laser would do to the camera lens taking digital photos?

Yep, Below 400' AGL and 3M from airports. As a pilot, I've lived with that for the last few decades with no problem.
