Padre, you may be missing a rather key point. Columbia College is a rather small exclusive undergraduate unit within a huge University. Columbia University has many other schools and colleges attached. An undergraduate from Columbia College is as unlikely to know any one from the School of General Studies as he would be to know anyone from The Columbia Medical College, or Columbia Law.

Glenn Beck can legitimately claim to have attended Yale. He did. He took courses there in the Yale University School of General Studies. He did not attend Yale College.
