Snuffy is 6 months older than Obama and graduated from Columbia in 1982. Obama transferred to Columbia in 1981. They were both Political Science majors with concentrations in International Relations. With that major and that concentration, It is highly likely they knew each other there, at least as acquaintances, even though there were about 5,000 undergrads.
