what I wonder is whether the upper echelons of the military have access to the internet and cable transmissions. I find it hard to believe that no one in that country knows what is going on outside of NK.

I read somewhere that the Un-cola, and top party members do have the internet, and rely on Japanese isp services. Recent developments may have changed that.

I see your point but in China, the generals of the PLA have full access to the 21st century and yet many of them sound like Kim’s generals.
