Pastor Rick Warren said Thursday that his son, Matthew, purchased an unregistered gun over the Internet. It was that weapon that he used to take his own life last week after years of battling mental illness. "Someone on the internet sold Matthew an unregistered gun. I pray he seeks God's forgiveness. I forgive him. #MATTHEW 6:15," Warren tweeted Thursday. The Orange County Sheriff's Department told the Associated Press it is trying to identify the seller, but the gun's serial number was unreadable, making it difficult to trace the firearm.

Yep. Very good reminder. It's tough to forgive Rick for being so presumptuous and loose with his privilege as a pastor of a mega-church, but you're right, it's my duty as a Christian. Good and humbling reminder.
Sandy and Winstons, I forgive a hot stove for burning me. But I don't put my hand on it again unless I'm sure it's not hot. Warren is deserving of forgiveness, but as for confidence and trust -- that's another issue. He again promotes the left agenda on a "conservative" platform, and you still defend him. You ought to snap out of it.
And the man lost his son. He is grieving deeply. And yet it seems he is forgiving the CRIMINAL who sold his son a gun.
Good heavens. WAKE UP!!! Hello? Knock knock?
Wow. Is every one in Warren's flock so credible? Like groupies!
You have a strange idea of an "excellent read." I went into the book eagerly and happily, thirsty. It was cold and detached, obligating, so totally lacking in any real warmth of Christ's love, at least to me, that it was ... well, I'm glad I read it because in a round-about way, it opened my eyes with regard to my Christianity, my function as a Christian, in a big way.
There are red flags all over Warren. Open your eyes to them, please.
I have known Rick Warren personally for years. My opinion is based on first hand knowledge of him and his family.
That’s all I have to say.
I was refering specifically to CA.
In which case you aren’t “buying a gun over the internet”, you are merely communicating the desire to do so...
Does that make any since to you? Why would a man purchace a gun, file the numbers off and then shoot himself with it?
Don’t tell me I’m blinded. I am not a part of Warren’s congregation. All I really know of the man is his book and the fact that he hosted a debate between Obama and McCain years ago.
“He actually had the temerity to “forgive” the person who sold the gun!!! As a Christian, doesn’t that STINK to you?”
It appears that the gun was illegal. Doesn’t that stink to you?
Rick Warren can shut the F up.
