As is often the case, we can thank the ACLU & its cohorts for the problems we have. If those folks who are mentally unstable could be confined to a hospital for treatment, as was the case 40 years ago (give or take) they wouldn’t heve access to guns or innocent victims.

Even relatives who KNOW their loved one needs help can’t get it for them, thanks to the would-be patient’s “right” to refuse treatment. If we, as a society, were allowed to hospitalize the mentally incompetent, keeping guns out of their hands would not have become been an issue.

Close that loophole & you close the door to the gun grab.

I think their focus and concerns are / would be deciding who lives or dies. The people they protest to protect will get the shaft in the end from most in the ACLU and portions of our own society who think a spouse has the control along with the support of a government / court can murder a citizen. They desire to control us on every aspect of our lives. They have the superior answers and attitudes which causes divisions and rightly so.
