Retired Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus declared to Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview that Obamacare is going to kill off small business.
If [employees] are thrown out of their medical plans now, where theyre covered in a good plan and thrown under the bus, theyre going to be destroyed, Marcus said on Thursday. If, in fact, they dont stay as full-time employees but go to part-time employees, theyre going to be destroyed.
He talked to Newsmax at the Job Creators Alliance Free Enterprise Leadership Summit in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
People have to understand that the villain is not their employer; the villain is the U.S. government, Marcus added. Obamacare is the capper. Thats the bullet to the temple.
Marcus, who retired from Home Depot in 2002, established the Job Creators Alliance two years ago. The nonprofit group seeks to advocate for entrepreneurs and small-business owners.

home depot has done more to support what is destroying small business than they are willing to see.
They can cry me a river
I’d also add: Conservatism supports cool, unemotional acceptance and analysis of facts, and respect for other points of view.
this is like playing chess with a pigeon.
Then a little respect, please.
Geez, they just NOW figuring this out?
What a bunch of maroons.
I’m on your side, whad’ya think?
Then a little respect, please. unless, as a liberal you’re about to say something even more personally offensive, as you’ve been unable to accept my point of view
:) whoah, I clipped you in that crossfire.
I can use a little support, here, thanks.
I won’t argue any more with somebody who is obviously a relative or close friend of the former CEO of Home Depot, using a form of endearment when referring to the man as “Bernie”. I don’t know any Bernies, except one Bernie Schwartz I knew what I was growing up in Brooklyn NY.
It’s like this (to expand on my previous post.) Cold, verifiable facts, that you don’t have to like or dislike, but reacting to them emotionally or attacking people who bring them up and calling them idiots, won’t change them:
(1) Big box retailers push out small businesses. (Business publications, economists, acknowledge it, as does everyone else.)
(2) There is a film somewhere on Internet showing a German ghost town, which lost all its businesses after Big Box retailers opened up in the neighbourhood. It is silent, there is no commentary.
(3) Big business supports big government.
I don’t give a damn about any “Bernie” or his Home Depot, I’m just an observer and not a defender of any moguls or any policies.
You are not implying that I was doing personal attacks, I hope.
I don’t care about the personalities here, their names nor anything else relative to that.
I don’t care who’s gay or who isn’t or who supports them or who doesn’t and I give plenty of money to one particular gay person who assists us at home and who is part of the family, to a degree.
There is a difference, here, and that is there are some corporations who give to causes. and it is a matter of record that they do. HD gives to the militant gay cause which seeks a societally destructive path. I don’t hate them. I have no emotion toward the situation.
I do not give to them because I don’t want MY money going to this cause. I don’t give to Unicef nor Catholic Charities because of their contributions to Planned Parenthood.
It’s about not wanting to contribute to the destruction of marriage and in the latter case, kids.
These forces will not respect my view, which is based on religious formation, and they don’t have to.
But I can admit that they don’t respect my right to not think that gay marriage nor abortion are alright.
That’s it.
On the Mark Levin show they play a pro amac commercial, citing the need to recognize what evil forces aarp’s financial support or PP and Obama.
It’s the same thing.
Nothing to do with emotions and attacks.
well said.
did I get caught in the crossfire? I don’t know any “bernies”, nor refer to anyone who runs a corp by first name.
:)
Crossfire, sorry...
When you are a Von Braun -you earned it. I support my BIL.
They still have the pensions to steal. That could keep them going for a little while longer, and the little guy will be hosed even sooner.
I support my BIL
