Flowering Quince (Chaenomeles) in white, pink, red are opening. The Quince is edible, though hard as a rock, when par-boiled, and is an 'old-fashioned' plant, often called a 'firebush'. It has 1-2" thorns and makes a great hedge for keeping unwanted neighbors on their property. They may try it once, but after a tip to the hospital to get the barbs cut-out, they won't violate the hedge barrier again. Heh.
Quick question.
Is that also called the “burning bush” plant or is that a different plant? Thank-you for your answer.
