I don’t mind profs being liberal, I do mind if they are agents of the Ministry of Agitation & Propaganda. The best prof I ever had was Professor Torke, my law school Constitutional Law professor. I strongly suspect he was politically liberal, but you could not tell from his presentation of the material. Very even-handed. After all, we could graduate with jobs on one side or the other.
Worst prof I ever had was Professor Hansen for “Comparative Political Systems” in 1980. It should have been called “Soviet Communism Here and Now.” He was spouting off about “workers controlling the means of production” and all that crap. It was obvious he’d never worked a day in his life, or spent a day, in the real world. I had, doing commercial construction. I knew what would happen if you turned the means of production over to the guys I worked with, and it wasn’t going to be a good thing.
Professor Hansen wound up Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. No wonder this guy at USC has a job; he’s just what the boss is looking for.
Funny how they conveniently forget Herman Cain. And Ted Cruz.
And Michael Steele. And all the rest.
I had a prof in some lib arts class (can’t remember the name of it) that I really liked. He was a lib, it was quite obvious, but was not vicious about and actually enjoyed the debate. He would say something and then look at me because he knew I was going to respond. lol One time he said something and when I didn’t respond he said....Sheana? No response? I said... not today, too tired. He just laughed and said.... ok, maybe next time.
