Sam Grant nearly celebrated his eighth birthday party in jail.
The North Carolina boy had been charged with two felony counts of discharging his BB gun.
The parents of a then-seven-year-old North Carolina boy are beyond angry after their son was charged with two felony counts of possessing a BB gun. Just moments before the child was expected to answer to the allegations before a Catawba County judge the charges were dropped.

But their world got rocked when the received a letter from the Department of Juvenile Justice summoning the family to court.
They told us that they considered it to be a violent felony discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, Robbins said. It was crazy. We completely disagreed with the charges.
Their son was now facing the prospect of a year on probation, hundreds of hours of community service and a criminal record.
We couldnt imagine Sam standing in front of the court as a judge read him the charges, he said. How is he supposed to understand that? Hes eight years old.

War on Boys meets War on Guns.
They certainly would not migrate to CA. hee hee hee
So if the kid had thrown a rock and done more damage he would be up for a misdemeanor but because he used a BB coming out of a scawey wooking gun some power mad prosecutor thought felony charges were warranted? Citizens of NC should not rest until this A-hole prosecutor is living out of his car and eating dog food.
My husband, his sons when they were kids, and my husband’s brothers and their sons used to all have great fun years ago shooting at each other with bb guns. They usually aimed for the rear end. Nobody ever got hurt, at least nothing worth telling.
Think about this. The difference today is the guys with Government Jobs think they are smarter than everyone else.
No one can make a decision without out them.
They would last about 5 minutes in a real business environment or on a battle field.
All part of the plan voiced by Holder; “Gun Owners Should ‘Cower’ in Shame Like Smokers”
Remember the candy cigarettes you bought at the corner five and dime as a kid.
Unfortunately.
Many Scot/Irish decedents.
Pity that the candy asses of the world will never get to know what REAL guy fun is.
It just make you a better person.
Our blow gun darts were made out of a small piece of bamboo and a sewing pin that had it’s head clipped off.
About half the time your opposition would only pull them out of your back just so they could get more ammo.
Grass burr wars were even worse. No one ever needed to recycle ammo. If you couldn’t get the grass burrs out of your own back you were SOL.
too bad it wasn’t Chicago ... they don’t prosecute federal firearm laws there
That is true if you are one of Eric Holder’s people.
In the late forties/early fifties, my family was one of the one percent that lived on the edge of a golf course.
Us neighborhood kids loved to have BB war games, with the enemy hidden in the south sand trap, and the good guys lying in the north sand trap. We did have glasses or goggles on.
No-one ever got hurt, even in our complex flanking maneuvers into the other sand traps, and we all laughed after the fight was over, and vowed to be there tomorrow evening after the maintenance crew left for the night, so the golf course was ours!!
thank God.
Wow, did not know kids had actual fights with BB guns and darts. Hardcore.
I know. The stories we could tell, huh? And the kids now grow up in a sanitised, regimented world. Either that, or the dangers they face aren’t the innocent kid fun kind. They get the worst of both worlds.
We have more than enough people, thanks.
I suggest they all go to Texas...You’ll love it when ya have a greedy mart on every corner run by Muslims, and 10,000 pink 5-story apartment building across the wind swept Texas plains.
It’s not all that bad...You’ll be able to get a Texas sized slurpy 24/7, even on Christmas.
Cheers!
My friends and I used to have naval battles, rafts in a neighborhood swamp (wetland to you guys under thirty) and BB guns, or whatever else you had. I don’t recall that any of us could swim, either. Being nine or ten could be risky business in the ‘50s.
Too many kids aren’t allowed to have fun now days.
Parents are afraid they might get hurt. No matter how small the hurt is, my little precious can’t get hurt.
When we were growing up getting hurt sometimes was just part of the fun.
We grew up faster, we didn’t stay children until we were 25 like kids do today.
I believe this is a large part of the reason people like you and me don’t want the govt taking care of us. It’s no fun having someone watching over you to make sure you don’t get hurt.
Getting hurt is part of the fun, and we aren’t going to change.
That, and government as it’s understood today exists to expand itself. It’s going to culminate in global government.
The friend of mine who shot me point blank in the stomach with a BB gun, was one of Holder's people. But his people in Alabama back then, had no resemblance to his people in Detroit, where I was soon moved too.
