Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey is close to a deal with Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia on background checks for gun show and Internet gun sales, his office said Tuesday night. The two are planning a joint press conference for Wednesday morning.
A Toomey spokesperson on Tuesday told NBC News that the two senators have agreed on all but the final details of a compromise.
Manchin told reporters Tuesday that the compromise would close the gun show loophole by mandating background checks for those transactions and also require background checks for all Internet gun sales.

Let me tell you something. If these bastards sell out on gun control as they sold out on the budget, “gay” marriage, and on Obamacare, ITS OVER for them.

That is what I was thinking. Isn’t it already the law that the gun MUST be transferred to an FFL dealer who then finishes the transaction only AFTER he does a credit check. There is paperwork and ID’s involved in every step of the way.
Handgun? That’s been the SOP here in PA, for years. Even long guns have to be shipped to an FFL and an ATF Form 4473 filled-out. I don’t remember background checks for long guns, though.
Question: Did any of the Newtown, Aurora, or Tucson psychos purchase their weapons at a gun show or over the internet? Didn’t think so.
Look how the socialist start with an “assault weapons ban” then, get RINO’s to agree to a “Universal background check” on firearms “just for internet and gun show purchases.” Once this legislation gets adopted, all the socialist will need to do then, is write laws that make it “universal” for all firearms in the United States! The socialist never compromise, never stop, never give up fighting to confiscate all American firearms!

What they’re saying is if I go to a gunshow and sell you my personal gun, the government wants to know about it. Just another way to register all those guns that change hands between idividuals. It’s that simple.

I’m guessing that the difference between Obama’s background check and the previous background check is that registration will be required. Of course, no one will know that until they sign it into law. But that’s my prediction.
