Smoky spent all night on our doormat. We had taken the little kitten inside but when she didn’t leave I brought it back out and unwrapped the towel it was in and laid it down. She sniffed it, washed it’s little bottom and when it didn’t respond, she just sat down and looked at me. I wrapped it back up and she didn’t object. She stayed the night on the mat and left about 9am.
Poor mama cat. The baby made it through the winter. So sad.
So sad. I think she’s too old to nurse her kittens. There’s a tom cat somewhere in the area.

The coffee sees into your soul!
The little mite was born about 3 weeks ago when it was bitterly cold. It reaches 60 to 70 and it died. Had to be birth defects. All the cats are related. All of them either gray, black or one of those colors with white. No striped tabbys or orange. Just gray, black and some white.
She’s only about 8. Sooty is still a tom. Inbreeding will cause birth defects and weak kittens.
Yes, it’s very likely that it never had a chance. It was very kind of you to bury the poor little thing.
