Before Obama was elected I, and I believe many others took for granted that what was taught in grade schools,high schools, and colleges about the history of the USA and It’s Constitution. There was little concern and/or effort to deal with usurpation of the Foundation of this Nation or the meaning and purpose behind the ‘Declaration of Independence’ which was the prologue for the Constitution. Before and after WWII citizens by/of various classes were very busy not only building this Nation but in providing for their own family welfare. At sometime in our history, I would say after the early 1960s, these hard working citizens of different classes had enriched the Nation to the point where sweat and hard work was ,by many/too many persons, replaced with desire for ‘change’. There were many people who were concerned with ‘change’ as proposed by Obama. There were quite a number even looking at Obama and warning about what he was talking about. There was little concern about his eligibility for being a Senator even though Chicago politics was involved. However, there were people already looking at his eligibility for POTUS. It was taken for granted at the time that Obama was an ordinary citizen spoken about in Article I of the Constitution. It was at this point that the Obama enablers really came into play insofar as to obfuscate, doctor, and create the phantom background for Obama with the help of bought news organizations. So it was that growing public awareness, and also some public denial, was what turned to a serious interest in what the Constitution requires as to eligibility for POTUSA. I believe that today there are many people who have now become conversant about the wording and intent of the Constitution.
So why do you suppose there wasn’t a single poster on FR conversant with the Vattel definition until after Obama’s election? If this was what so many NOW claim they were taught in school? Where are the textbooks they were taught from that advance this definition?
And the citizen qualification discussed in Article one is inclusive of all three types of US citizen mentioned in the Constitution. It is not its own category. As should be obvious.
