The Drug Warriors continue to crank out junk science.
To: JustSayNoToNannies
I was in the Security Police in the Air Force, and worked with many NYState Cops in the reserves.
The general opinions is they would rather respond to a call about potheads than drunks- the potheads are not violent.

I used to perform psychiatric assessments in area emergency rooms.
Lots of angry drunks, IV drug users, meth addicts handcuffed to gurneys.
Potheads don't wind up in the ER. They go to the King Buffet or just lay on the couch and giggle.

But of course. There can be no Drug War without lies.

When you legalize/decriminalize weed, you make it currency.
Hell, legal prescribed pain-killers are currency now.
Where there is currency, there is crime.

Great.
Five pot shops have opened within five miles of my house in the last three years. The parking lots are wonderful, wholesome places, not at all full of trash and trashy people. I don’t know why more people don’t let their kids ride bikes to the 7/11 next door to buy bubble gum.
They attract the same peaceful, hard-working element as the strip club. But there’s only one of those locally. The multiple pot shops have added nothing but value to the neighborhood. Hey, single ladies — there’s a fat guy in house slippers and a wife-beater with tats standing in front of the 7/11 next door to the pot shop shoving microwave burritos into his gob with both hands — what are you waiting for?!
And the rash of break-ins and stuff swiped from cars? There’s no proof whatsoever that there’s a connection! At least they’re not violent! And anyway, even if someone did steal the bench off your front porch, why, it’s a small price to pay for the freedom to get wasted, you fascist!
Pot is awesome, and kids should be encouraged to smoke “responsibly” starting age seven. Anyone who says otherwise hates America.

And illegal things can't serve as currency?

There is no evidence that pot shops don't simply relocate crime rather than increase it. I'm all for zoning restrictions on them - as far from residential areas as the residents vote for.

I see nothing at either link that invalidates his conclusions in this article. Do you?

Execute anyone that uses it! Over 40% of Americans have used marijuana - do you really think executing them all is a good idea?

Disproved by marijuana use among gang-bangers.

marijuana use among gang-bangers. Proves only that people who are violent when unstoned are sometimes also violent when stoned.
