Margaret Thatcher restored "confidence and pride" too Britain was a "true friend" of America, President Barack Obama said today.
Upon the death of the former-prime minister, the US president said she stood as a role model to women everywhere about what they can achieve.
"With the passing of Baroness Margaret Thatcher, the world has lost one of the great champions of freedom and liberty, and America has lost a true friend," he said of the 87-year-old.
"As a grocers daughter who rose to become Britains first female prime minister, she stands as an example to our daughters that there is no glass ceiling that cant be shattered.
"As prime minister, she helped restore the confidence and pride that has always been the hallmark of Britain at its best.
"And as an unapologetic supporter of our transatlantic alliance, she knew that with strength and resolve we could win the Cold War and extend freedoms promise.
Obama added: "Here in America, many of us will never forget her standing shoulder to shoulder with President Reagan, reminding the world that we are not simply carried along by the currents of historywe can shape them with moral conviction, unyielding courage and iron will.
"Michelle and I send our thoughts to the Thatcher family and all the British people as we carry on the work to which she dedicated her lifefree peoples standing together, determined to write our own destiny."
Thatcher died after a stroke this morning, following years spent in an increasingly fragile state.
This phony arsewipe isn’t good enough to shine her shoes.
While she was alive she saw Obama dismantling the freedom for which she fought. Because of her, Pope John Paul II, and the Gipper, hundreds of millions of people were set free from the greatest evil of the 20th Century. Unfortunately, that evil has been replaced by the Islamists, which Obama refuses to fight.
by “thoughts” what he really meant was:
bahahahahaha! Good riddance to the dirty capitalist!
We all know Obama knew nothing about her, prior to her passing. Obama tweeted within a half hour of Ebert's passing, yet waited quite a while for a speech to be written for him to respond to Thatcher's passing. Obama was a good for nothing junior community "leader". Thatcher was an accomplished chemist, then barrister, then a true leader, all on her own strengths.
TFF!!!
Pic of the day award...
I stand to be corrected, but has Obama ever actually met the woman??? Actually greeted her??? Shook her hand???
STFU Obama, you don’t even qualify to walk in her shadow!!!
