Make sure you cut them into 18” logs, split into 2-3 pieces to expose more heartwood (cambium) to air-drying, and let them “season & age” for 1-2yrs, before burning them.
Deciduous trees only require a season to “age” properly.
The sap in evergreens (Pinus) can cause very explosive flu fires if not thoroughly dried-out. Even then, get your flu checked every season for sap build-up. I could tell you some stories of people who didn’t, that would chill your bones...
