“Where the heck did the concept of “proportional response” come from?”

Probably from weaker, but more clever enemies - both external and internal.

Experience has shown that Russia’s brutal, grossly disproportionate, and completely indiscriminate responses to threats has worked very well for deterring future attacks. I could make a case that this policy SAVES lives.

1) The quote in your post is not mine! It was in italics to show that it came from the person I was replying to.

2) I want not only retaliation, but brutal retribution for ANY nation or people that screws with us. When it came to W and his response to 9/11/01, I was, and still remain, sickened. GIVE these animals democracy...HAH!!! Mecca, Baghdad, Damascus, Riyadh, Tehran, Kabul, Beirut and Tripoli should have been turned to glass. Unlike far too many FReepers, the attack on the WTC was NOT a TV show for me. I saw it first hand. I knew people murdered that day. No amount of pontification or rationalization by you or anyone else on this board is going to change my thinking on this matter. Unless islam is wiped from the face of the planet, Western civilization is doomed.

If the Norks screw with us, the same should happen to Pyongyang.

I could make a case that this policy SAVES lives.

The ONLY lives it saves are those of our enemies. Take that act on the road, pal because it doesn't play on this end.
