Entirely agree. I could see her talking to (indoctrinating) a group of second graders..
“Shouldn’t we share more so that poor people have more money?”
“Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone in our town joined together to help the children?”
“Wouldn’t it be safer if only the people who are there to protect you, like policewomen and men, had guns?”
The examples you give are actual questions. What I object to (with a passion) are people who phrase declarative statements as questions. I can picture her with her (poor, unfortunate) husband in the morning. "The weather is a little cold? So you should wear a jacket? I like these Toaster Pastries? Especially the cherry ones? I hope they aren't fattening?"
