Donnelly will occasionally be allowed off the plantation for show purposes, like he did in the symbolic vote on the UN arms trafficking treaty. But on any matter of substance, Donnelly is Reid’s monkey-boy. The democrat Senate campaign committee was his biggest donor, so they own him.
We definitely miscalculated by throwing out Lugar for Mourdock. Mourdock was an idiot. We have to be a lot better at vetting our candidates. We must have good candidates who are conservative, we can’t settle for good conservatives who are candidates.
His yes vote on Kagan destroyed any hope of a filibuster against her.
Big advocate of Law of Sea Treaty as well as a few other UN missives
Evolving on global warming to support carbon tax.
I am proud to have voted for Mourdock. He made a stupid comment for which he suffered the consequences. Do not forget he was the ONLY State Treasurer to stand up for secured creditor rights when Dear Leader nationalized Chrysler, in effect giving it to the UAW and screwing secured and non secured creditors out of billions. He took Dear Leader and Chrysler to court in early 2009.
Before you start crying about Mourdock, what do you think would have happened if the people of Indiana had known about Donnelly’s evolving views on gay marriage?
Lugie was an idiot and a democrat. I’m glad he’s gone. Hope the people of Indiana have the sense to correct their mistake.
This is on the party. They misjudged the level of dislike for the establishment that was happening at that time. Mourdock was the only one to buck the party. Had the party taken more of a reasonable approach, a better candidate might have been found. Becky Skillman could have been a good, solid, likeable candidate. But no.
The party did the same thing all those years against Julia Carson, when it went of its way not to support whoever was running against her.
