Having just won the battle with the “relatively easy to treat” testicular cancer (took 3 chemo rounds and two months....okay aside from my hearing being messed with some), cancer is awful, and the treatment even worse.
I am lucky...we caught it early and it’s also one of the most curable even fairly late.
But, even with this cancer, there are deaths...
I don’t wish cancer on my worst enemy, and I am so sad that Ebert had to go through this nightmare multiple times in such an awful way with later stage cancer and much more difficult to treat.
It’s odd he died so quickly after the announcement, but he likely waited until it was close to the end before letting people know.
RIP Ebert....know we didn’t agree on politics, but wow, you fought through it all with such inspiration. RIP. You are free from the pain, suffering and chemo, surgery etc. now.
Nice comment rwfromkansas... I’m sure you’ll be fine - but you’re in my prayers anyhow... thanks for sharing.

Did you know he credited a ‘leonard cohen’ moment for saving his life? I think it was on TED... anyhow interesting story.
