Does anyone know whom the feds are buying the ammo from?

Is it the same manufacturers that can’t keep a spare box of cartridges, from .22 shorts to 45.70s, on the shelves from Seattle to Miami?

I’ve got no beef with ammo manufacturers. But I have to wonder if the “bulk price” sales to the feds are worth leaving their retail markets AND their longtime customers high and dry.

Can’t they turn down the government sales just like some of the gun manufacturers are doing?

Part of the federal licensing requirements for munitions factories is that federal contracts take first priority in order fulfillment.

It baffles me why they would sell to the gov at a low margin, when they will sell out anyway. I think all ammo maker should just not sell to any police dept, govt agcy, etc. Starve them. There are only about four major manufacturers
