It amazes me the complacency of people both on the left and the right. So many are assuming life will always stay as it is. They are like teenagers who think they will never die and times will never change. I'm sure people thought Stalin, Po Pot, Hitler, Mussolini......were just making changes for the good of their country. If they wanted to take away peoples guns, let them. There is too much killling anyway. The US could never elect an evil and corrupt dictator wannabe.

Yup-it’s the shadow government within a government that “O” is steering in his own direction.
The traditional US political system and the whole illusion of self-government we are permitted is just a facade.
Because of American movies, Europeans tend to see Americans as either “cowboys” or “gangsters”. They actually have a point there. The Republicans, or at least the conservative Republicans, tend to have “cowboy” values; whereas the Democrats are controlled by big-city machine, mob, and union gangster-types.
The trouble with the gangster mode of government, however, is that in a mafia, everything is done entirely for “the big boss”. All money flows to him, and he parcels it out to his lieutenants and cronies outside the organization to maintain loyalty. And that is the entire, two fold purpose of the Mafia, or the Mafia-government.
To keep and expand power and control, and to reward their friends and punish their enemies. They believe nothing more than that.
Importantly, Obama has realized that he is in a lame duck second term, so he truly does not care about the Democrat party any more, he only cares about getting his agenda forced on everyone. After he leaves office, America can be a smoking crater, for all he cares, as long as he got what he wanted.
So his efforts right now are not to get Democrats elected, but to get *only* Democrats who will mindlessly obey him elected. Harry Reid and his senate has proven able to stalemate the Republicans in congress, so Obama’s only electoral interest is in a critical few senate seats.
The Democrat congressmen are on their own.
