Air Force says Sequester budget cuts prohibit military transport
[Asheville, NC] A private aircraft climbed into a cloudless Good Friday sky, bound for the nations capital. Its mission: to fetch a local veteran back to spend his final days near his family.

And yet there is still enough money to haul the Obama's @$$es all over kingdom come.

There’s a lot of questions about this article. Would the AF really have scheduled a flight to move him to Ashville? If so, that’s news to me. Would they have given him a seat ‘space available’ if a flight was going to Ashville? Probably. But how often does the AF fly from Andrews AFB to Ashville? Virtually never as far as I would expect since there’s no base nearby. Please correct me on what I’m missing here.
The Air Force doesn’t fly former members around, unless you put yourself onto the Space A status, and you could be sitting there for two or three weeks....waiting for a ride. Anyone who depends on these ‘free rides’ is just a cheap guy who doesn’t want to pull money out of their own pocket. And no, you don’t get to advance to the top of the space A list because of some terminal disease, if you are retired (active duty, it might be a different story).
Thanks. That was my opinion as well. I hate to see folks hang stuff on sequestration that isn’t true because the Administration is doing enough to make life miserable for which they should be called out.
This is how it works from the federal government all the way down to city councils. When they want to raise taxes or need to cut spending, make it as painful as possible for the public while spending like royalty.
The Air Force does a lot of low level training in the area. We are about an hour west of Asheville and occasionally have C-130 & CH-53 aircraft night flying up the valley about the level of our house or a little bit higher.
If he had a clearing big enough near his home, I’d have been glad to drop him off... Of course, they’d probably yanked my wings immediately thereafter!
And enough money to send his kids on Spring Break.
Bingo. The government always sticks it to the public.
After a former boyhood “friend”, who is also retired military, when on a rant about how great liberalism is, I told him that it is apparent that this regime hates the military and retired pay and benefits will soon be the next to go. He is no longer a “friend”. Funny how libs can’t face facts.
I have news for you, that guy was never a “friend”.
Obozo and his rat pals will stoop to absolutely any depth.
I’d have to agree, and I certainly don’t miss his moronic philosophy.
“”The patient is retired Master Sergeant Michael Dishon, a 20-year Air Force veteran who was recently medevaced from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the armys largest hospital outside the U.S. proper, to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington””
Can anyone tell from the article why he was at the medical center in Germany? I sure didn’t see anything.
