Four shot gun holes and blood spatter can be found in the backyard.

Awful writing. Were the "shotgun holes" in the ground? And the "blood spatter" where did that come from? From when the police shot him or before?

During the course of that encounter, one of our officers discharged, striking the suspect,” said Sgt. Eric Kowalczyk, police spokesman.

What exactly does that mean? "one of our officers discharged"?? Does that mean that he urinated on the ground? NO, he did not discharge, but his gun may have. It probably did not do it on it's own, which is what seems to be implied.

Perhaps the cop peed his pants while firing his service pistol, and thus both the cop and the gun discharged?

Hard to tell from the terrible writing from one of our modern journalists.

Does that mean that he urinated on the ground?

I was thinking of something more salacious, but then again, I have a dirty mind.
