An array of Jewish groups urged President Obama and Congress to ease the path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
Nineteen national groups and dozens of local groups and clergy signed on to a letter sent last Friday that was timed for Passover.
“American Jews know too well the impact of restrictive immigration policies, and we have seen how the immigration issue can become a flashpoint for xenophobia,” said the letter, which was spearheaded by the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
Signatories represented all four major Jewish religious streams as well as the major Jewish civil rights groups, and the federation and public policy umbrellas.
“We are concerned the failure of national leaders to fix the broken immigration system has fueled racist, nativist, and extremist groups who blame immigrants for our country’s problems, and has been a central factor in the spread of state and local policies and laws that legalize discrimination against immigrants,” the letter says.

Within that framework the Mexicans wanting a green card to come here need to be matched head for head with an illegal alien without a green card.
Mexico can send in special teams to retrieve their own, or other aliens who used the US/Mexician border, or a Mexico originating flight to show up here.
I think that might reduce our deportation costs substantially while simultaneously encouraging ALL OTHERS anywhere in the world to AVOID showing up where the Mexican special teams can tag you out and take you to Mexico to spend time in a Mexican jail.
The basic thrust here is to turn legitimate immigration into a benefit to Mexico and the US while getting rid of the criminals.
The Jewish Forward is a Socialst magazine. Not representative of all Jews. believe me. I hope this thread does not turn into a Jew bashing one.
In recent months the following has been reported regarding Israel:
- Israel has hysically deported African immigrants
- Israel has significantly strengthened their borders
- Israel was secretly giving Deprovera to their African immigrants so that they would not reproduce.
- Israel has re-emphasized that Israel is a Jewish nation for Jews.
Minus sterilizing women, I have no problem with Israel’s steps to limit immigration and keep their national identity. Did these Jewish groups raise issue about acceptance and xenophobia with the Israel government, though? My guess is that a double standard is applied.

You know, I don’t either, but good, decent Conservative Jews need to stand up and be counted not unlike the Dr. Ben Carson’s and Col. Allen West’s are doing in their respective community. Jews, as a community, have some of the same problems as do “Holder’s People.” You have any number of high-profile folks who are clearly Marxists, but none among you ever speak out against them. I don’t believe in “Jew Bashing,” but I do believe that the truth needs to be spoken. I welcome your response!

I think there needs to be a distinction made between Israel and her Jewish population and the Jews who are American citizens. In my mind, they are two separate and distinct groups. And personally, I think the Israeli’s are more in tune with the principles upon which this country was founded than are American Jews with some exceptions.
Anyone familiar with ‘Forverts’ and the lefties in the story would know they are as suicidal about Israel as they are about America.

You have no idea how many conservative Jews are in the Conservative/Tea Party movements, including my daughter.
I’ve been involved in Jewish affairs since 1963, taking on the Nazis, Communists/KGB, PLO, Libyan operatives, and domestic communists including the Weathermen.
Many of us operate behinds the scenes because we can be more effective that way. Many of us are/were journalists and authors of books that have fought our enemies and in some cases, kicked the shit out of them.
Thanks to sites like FreeRepublic, our works and our comments can be spread out to tens of thousands of other patriotic Americans, which beats trying to stand on a street corner and talk to 10 people and a dog.
Just look at how many Jewish conservative columnists there are at Townhall.Com (Prelutsky, some of the Kleins, Ben Stein, etc), Aaron Klein, WND, Ben Shapiro and others at Breitbart, Kesler at Maggie’s Farm, Ruth King at “Ruthfully Yours”, etc.
Major Jewish organizations do not represent us as most of us don’t belong to them. We value our independence in thinking and not the knee-jerk mentally of too many of the mainstream organizations.
The Jews who came to America in the last century, including my relatives, came for a better life, but they all became legalized citizens, spoke English ( and many other languages as well), supported our schools, our laws, and served in the armed forces in all the 20th Century wars (my father, grandfather, cousins, mother -Army civilian; etc).
Believe me, we Jews who have our heads screwed on properly know that you can’t have an immigration program that promotes illegality and bribes illegals with money and rights, and keep America a great nation.
The Jewish immigrants of the past became “Americans” (read “The Education of HYMAN Kaplan”), books by Harry Golden, Roth, and others.
Unfortunately today’s illegals want to remain Mexicans or Guatemalans, etc. and are trying to bring their country here instead of becoming an active part of America.
There is a difference but too many major Jewish organizations still have their heads up their 1940’s butts. That is no way to have an immigration policy when our country is under such great attack on all fronts.
Either you are an American or you aren’t. Either you are a legal citizen or you aren’t. Once a realistic national policy is adopted (when pigs fly with the Democrats in office), then the nuances of “anchor babies” and brought-in children should be addressed in a humane way.
However, a citizen’s first duty it to protect their country from all enemies and threats, foreign and domestic. Today, Democrats, immigrationists and liberals are the greatest threat to America, and it they are Jewish, then they are part of the problem too.
As a Jewish American I say, either you are with us or you are against us. America either stands for something or it will die. I prefer to take a stand to keep it standing.

Jews represent 2% of the population.
“Jews represent 2% of the population.”
But in New York, it’s 8.5%; New Jersey, it’s 5.7%; Washington DC it’s 4.5%. Not many Jews in the Heartland though, and it is those states where the Constitution is still revered. Jews are, like Blacks, a solid bloc of RAT votes, which never waivers. Conservative Jews are comparatively few in number. They are the Allen West’s and Ben Carson’s of their ethnic group.
