Based on the new effort in Tucson to provide shotguns to people who live in high crime areas (which is driving the liberals bonkers), I have another idea.

A “pro-gun gun buyback”.

The idea is that it is a charitable effort, to buy back serviceable guns from those who don’t want them, to give to people of good character who need them.

The emphasis should be to give them to women with protection orders against violent men; women who live alone and are afraid; the poor and disabled, etc.

Importantly, guns would both be given a background check, to insure they had not been used in a crime; and a local gun dealer would have to volunteer to do background checks of buyers to insure that it was legal for them to buy.

There might also be an additional check done at the same time to insure that potential buyers are not Democrat operatives attempting to obtain a gun under false pretenses.

And once all was said and done, the charity would also provide the new gun owner with some precious ammunition.

While this might only need to be done once, I suspect that representatives of the pro-gun organizations, gun manufacturers and retailers, and others would be more than happy to turn it into a publicized event.

And it would really make the heathen rage.

We are thinking along the same lines here. I am thinking of organizing it through local churches.

That is an excellent idea. My only suggestion would be to work the words “anti-crime” or “self-defense” or something similar into the name of program. Well done and a great proposal.
