> We blow up lil Kim and install Dennis Rodman as the new leader.

Isn’t that a little too much pain to inflict on a country altering blowing it to kingdom come?

The Norks who live under the commie regime there truly are innocent victims, where as in Japan the peoples were equally our enemy. OTOH, war when it is fought should be ugly as hell, it's the best deterrent against future wars.”

That would actually be a good argument for bombing Pyongyang. Only elites with special residency permits, and their relatively well-paid support personnel, get to live there.

TigerLikesRooster and AmericaninTokyo are the resident Freeper experts on things Korean.

I am not ignorant of Korean politics, but they're the boots-on-the-ground people.

If things had gone differently a dozen years ago, I'd be working as an English-language member of the editorial staff of a fairly large newspaper in Seoul and might be doing some of what they're doing on Free Republic, but for whatever reason that didn't happen and I'm back in the United States. Probably best for me and my family anyway, especially if things continue going the way they are in Korea.
