Bjorn Lomborg claimed on John Stossel's television show last night that money isn't being spent well to combat "global warming":
"The Germans are spending about $110 billion on subsidies for these solar panels," said Lomborg. "The net effect of all those investments will be to postpone global warming by 37 hours by the end of the century."
"All those billions, for 37 hours delay?," asked Stossel.
"Yeah," said Lomborg, "so remember them in [the year] 2100 and say, 'Wow.'"
Stossel clarified, "You believe in global warming and man-made--"
"Global warming is real," said Lomborg, "and it is we need to fix. But we should fix it smartly, and not in a very, very costly way as we're doing it now. Germany is probably spending $660 for every ton of CO2 they're cutting."
It was never vetted scientifically. People think that science is too complicated for most people so they trust the “scientists.” Scientists are treat like all knowing religious leaders.
Scientists generally view it as other scientists actually knowing.
Apparently, the models are diverging from reality. Well duh! Apparently, it isn't a done deal.
‘”The global temperature standstill shows that climate models are diverging from observations,” says David Whitehouse of the Global Warming Policy Foundation.’
Kumbaya...
“Those who don’t believe in God don’t believe in nothing, but will believe in anything.” - (I can’t remember who)
How true.
The global temperature standstill shows that climate models are diverging from observations, says David Whitehouse of the Global Warming Policy Foundation.

Saying it this way sounds like he expects reality to change to match the model!
Exactly. Lol.
Scientists are gods after all. They make reality match their theories.
Hey, wait a minute, wasn’t that what “hide the decline” was all about?

Lesson:
1. The sun is a million times larger than the earth.
2. The sun is a ball of fire.
3. The earth is a rock.
4. The earth is a speck in size in comparison to the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question:
1. How do less than specks plan to control the sun?
About the size of Mickey Rooney.
I wonder how we will be able to tell if they were successful with the delay. I’m thinking that they did so much already that they could halt all operations and discover that global warming has been delayed “indefinitely”.
Actually, the sun is a “comfy 70 degrees Fahrenheit.” So not to worry.
Slide to 1:41.
Funny!
And the Paleochronologists know that their primary proxies diverge from observations as well. And the statisticians know that the biologists are not applying the calculations correctly. and the meteorologists know that the warming isn’t occurring in the right places to tie what warming there is been to CO2. and the archaeologists know that it is clearly been warmer in the past than it is now... and so forth
But each differs to the others without knowing the flaws in the adjoining areas of expertise.

Former climate skeptic Bjorn Lomberg,
He has never been a skeptic. He has always been a warmist. Why the left hates him so much is because he believes too much money is being wasted on trying to stop climate change and the money could be better used to make sure everyone has drinking water, etc.
Each would know that any type of modeling is subject to error.
Climate models are created from theories (approximations) and highly complicated, interdependent, nonlinear systems. That doesn’t account for the massive scale of Earth’s climate system.
Now for the data. How accurate is the data? Was it taken near heat islands. Is the data skewed because lack of precision of the equipment, knowledge of the person taking the measurements, equipment calibration, etc. etc. I suggest that current methods are crude at best.
Question to anyone modeling a system — what is your estimate of the precision of your measurements and models? How would that manifest itself in errors short term and long term. Are the models and data accurate enough to bet the future of our economy and well being on them?
“Each would know that any type of modeling is subject to error.”
To be clear, I’m not making an assumption here on their assumptions. I talk with a lot of midling-layer scientists. Most of them I speak to seem generally aware of the flaws and things that need to be worked out in their own field. But they appear completely unaware - and unbelieving that it’s not just their own field.
It is very much like “the Emperor’s new clothes”. They just can’t believe the audacity involved.
GK Chesterton?
Correct.
