SEOUL, March 29 (Yonhap) -- North Korea announced Saturday that it has entered a state of war against South Korea.
In a special statement, the North said it will deal with every inter-Korean issue in a wartime manner.
The new little fat one might not know that it’s all rhetoric.
We lost almost 100,000 KIA in WWIII. It wasn’t cold.
I think the kid has lost his marbles and may be ready to start a war.
Yea, if China didn’t want NK to be threatening and declaring war, then NK wouldn’t be.
This could get ugly real quick.
We should really take out their missile bases. Spec ops, make it look like an accident.
Obama will cut them a check for $20 billion, they’ll quiet down and Obama will get a Nobel Peace prize for “averting a war”. This was probably on the first page of SOS Kerry’s todo list.
Audio recording (in Korean) of the declaration. It sounds like Pyongyang Patty’s voice.

Agreed. I’m sure the printing press in the White House basement is pumping out the money even as I type.
I’m kinda anxious with Obama as CiC, and NK throwing these threats around. Bigger threats then they normally do, meaning China is backing them.
Could the “fake” photo-op invasion map be closer to the truth?
If China/Russia openly help them, what could the US possibly do?
You forget that NK has allies. By themselves ya no problem. But if China and/or Russia are involved, could get messy really quickly.
And don’t forget The Worm.
Something is going to happen in the next 48 hours—I feel it. The only thing is how big will it be? This is planned and well worked out.
this tine the person in cotrol of North Korea is a few sandwiches short a picnic
He has to prove himself.
It smells different this time, this is more than saber rattling. I hope not, but it sure feels like it.
The time to REALLY get worried is when they shut up and their troops are ready to pull the trigger.
“Its all rhetoric. Its been nothing but rhetoric for over 50 years. Why would this time be any different?”
It’s for domestic consumption. The dictatorship needs external enemies to keep themselves in power.
This feels different...do you agree?
The threats are credible as being serious only if China believes the US will not meet force with overwhelming force. Obama at the helm makes that forceful response highly unlikely.
The rhetoric is indeed different and borderline insane, but it is just rhetoric. These threats have been around to varying degree for fifty years, and their intensity following the assumption of power of a 27 year-old looking to consolidate power is no surprise. It appears that the DPRK is doing everythng it can to sound and act like a nation about to strike, without actually being so.
There have been some very deadly attacks from the DPRK in the past. They've downed an airliner, they've attacked U.S. and ROK troops in the DMZ and they've launched suicide commando raids attempting to kill the ROK president. The shelling of the 'disputed' island a while back was a stronger action than any of the threats in their state press over the last week.
They are a dangerous nation, to be sure. Even a fairly quick and total victory over them still could cost a terrible amount of civilian lives in Seoul. I don't think a shooting war is imminent as it stands. They are not insane, they are simply desperate and making a play for what they want as always. If, however, the Civilian Reserve Airfleet is activated to evacuate U.S. civilians from the ROK and we start hearing about civil defeans preparations in Seoul and Tokyo, then it's time to worry.
