A side note, there was an science fiction story with that theme on the old "CBS Radio Mystery Theater" (1974-82) called "The God Machine" (1980). It took place in the future where The Computer chose everyone's spouse, and everything else too. I like the old radio shows, especially "Dimension X, "X-Minus One" and "CBS Radio Mystery Theater."
