This is long but it is worth finding and reading. Codevilla is a semi-neocon who has become a Constitutional Conservative . He is deliberately kept off any of the national media blab shows as he says impolite things and terrifies the permanent government establishment types.

I agree- - - it is a tedious, but interesting read, thanks.

Concerning your last sentence: just like Tom Woods. He’s more libertarian than conservative though.

An excellent read. Thank you. We, the Country Class, outnumber the Progressives by huge numbers. We are just too fractured due to the spineless Republicans who, really simply represent themselves. I don’t care how the revolution comes about.

indeed, a great read. thanks for the post. i’ve read parts of this elsewhere but not all together in a coherent form as here.

this man Codevilla is butressing his rhetoric with quotes from Lincoln, Madison, and God Himself. he distinguishes true reason and science from the leftist’s junk science. he argues against macro-evolution and for home-schooling. he argues for the family as a unit and not “families” as does the leftist. finally he argues for traditional marriage.

all of that makes him a true conservative in my book. there is not an ounce of neo-con or libertarianism in this work, imo. the work is a *tour de force* summary of the historical roots of the one-party rule that currently afflicts America. he writes like he’s channeling the tea party and its purposes. he has the leftists of both parties down perfectly.

as far as the country party goes, he worries that it would shred the Constitution as much as the leftists. he has a point. Codevilla correctly argues that jerrymandering is a leftist tool of both parties to subvert republican government as invisioned by the founders. i’ve seen people here on FR advocating the same jerrymandering to enhance republican party rule.

i can’t resist some great quotes from such a long piece:

“Eventually, pretending forcibly that valueless things have value dilutes the currency’s value for all.”

—everything the leftists in both parties do, attacks the value of the dollar, the accumulated wealth of the civil society.

“...the process by which party has become [snip] important began with the Supreme Court’s 1962 decision in Baker v. Carr which, by setting the single standard “one man, one vote” for congressional districts, ended up legalizing the practice of “gerrymandering,” concentrating the opposition party’s voters into as few districts as possible while placing one’s own voters into as many as possible likely to yield victories. Republican and Democratic state legislatures have gerrymandered for a half century. That is why today’s Congress consists more and more of persons who represent their respective party establishments...”

this is the bedrock of the power that keeps leftists like boehner, cantor and mccarthy in power over conservatives from conservative power bases in the south. yes jerrymandering is wrong, and harmful to representative government.

Very well thought out.

The “country party” is nearly out of options, realizing it needs to arm itself, while The ruling party, disguised as the DHS, is trying to stop them. I think the ruling party figured out there is going to be a fight before we did.

Good find.

The article skins the elitist Washington beast and exposes the bones of the monster and its connective tissues for all to see.
