NRA commentators pose dilemma for racist and sexist anti-gunners
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 26 March 2013 | David Codrea

“Fear is … the best ammunition that the National Rifle Association can muster,” hip hop impresario Russell Simmons accused in response to the announced affiliation between the gun rights group and emerging YouTube force Colion Noir, who, as a person of color, has evidently committed heresy by speaking out for the right to keep and bear arms.

“Our community is not interested in a corporate sponsored gun group telling us what to do,” corporate mogul Simmons asserted, presuming to be the one authorized to speak on behalf of the collective. “Until they show a real interest in solving the violence problem in our community, they can keep their Yankee hat-wearing spokesman and their African-American ‘campaigns’ for themselves. In the words of another internet star, ‘ain't nobody got time for that.’"

Pity. At one point, the “community” made the time, and the result was that hate-based violence was deterred. That names like Robert Hicks don’t evoke the same interest as names in Simmons stable of “stars” says much about misplaced values and trivial priorities.

Noir, for his part, is more than capable of holding his own. The guy was creating quite a buzz in Second Amendment circles before NRA approached him, and he reminded Simmons of that when he “schooled” him, not that a closed mind is a receptive one for the lesson.

“I don’t have fans, I have supporters,” Noir shot back. “This is real life, not music, not movies, real life. You kicked the hornets and thought you could walk away, but you were wrong. The NRA came to me after saying what I have been saying for two years.

The left has feared the gun culture reaching out to others for a long time. Lots of outreach is now starting to pay off.

Hint.

Guns are not the reason you have a violence problem in your community.

Nor is it the responsibility of lawful gun owners to solve it.

We can solve the violence problem. Those who are unproductive members of society of all races tend to be more violent. They need to be made to be productive. And if it takes them having to be owned to be productive, so be it. Criminals used to literally have to pay for their crimes in the form of monetary restitution. If they couldn’t pay, they had to work until the victims were compensated. It isn’t the Second Amendment that needs to be tinkered with.

Are guns with sights that only work when the gun is held vertically racist?

Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, EXCEPT AS A PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Educate yourself on the history of Common Law in America. Even after the freeing of slaves, the victim of a crime could own a slave or sell them into indentured servitude as compensation for their criminal act.

Congess needs to enforce this article with appropriate legislation.

Perhaps, you have not noticed- the US Constitution has not been in affect/effect for the last 40yrs. Regardless, your illumination is well regarded.
