Bringing the dog onto the property is a search.
OTOH, there were some grow operations that I could smell from three doors down. Didn’t need a dog, but I still went and got a warrant.
Could have been the “fake” stuff you burn to educate people what it smells like instead of the real thing . How did you know ?
We need to get away from the home/castle approach to searches. The Constitution is clear that we’re to be secure in our persons. Just because I’m in public doesn’t give the government or their delegated agents any right to me or my person.
