—Time for him move. He came forward too fast without legal & financal advice?
Lucky guy.
But, I would strongly recommend that he keep quiet, anonymous and hire a good lawyer and good tax accountants prior to cashing in his ticket.
“He came forward too fast without legal & financal advice.”
Not the smartest guy in New Jersey.
Well that is my guess. You do not show up at the store you bought it! Contact the NJ Lottery officials
Word of advice to the winner: immediately disappear.
No phone, paper, or digital trail whatsoever. Change name, location, all personal data, and go deeper undercover than witness protection. Leave no contact info with the relatives. Move at least 1000 miles away, and use worn cash to pay for everything.
Buy a farm house at the end of a long windy lane and fence the whole thing off like it’s a military installation.
And be sure to pay your taxes, or Sister Janet may come for a visit, driving an MRAP.
Idiot Alert!
He has compromised his family’s safety and security forever.

What a sweet racket.
PRIZE $338 Million.
Means ‘they’ had to collect whatever the auto payoff to Govt entities the ‘money is earmarked for + Op expenses - 338 is probably half??
Then get penalized for ‘early payout’
Then get taxed.
Think his take home is about 120 million
So if you figure that 700 +- Mill was collected and the guy gets 120 million, nice racket....
And ‘they’ (Govt) raise hell if I want to sell/raffle my house/car— whatever and sell tickets....
First thing to do:
Change your name to something like "Chip Nickerson".
Second thing to do:
Get lost.
Thats what i would do, except i would even stay in this country. The govt gets the inital tax payment/theft, then I would be GONE like a fart in the wind. Only contact of any friends and family would cease to exist, except for a means to reach me should something happen to my parents.
If Pedro is an illegal he shouldn’t get a cent. Still, its better than a Muslim winning.
Is citizenship required to legally purchase a lottery ticket in NJ?
Two ways to look at this:
1) take lump sum layout and move to foreign country where other ex-pats are to avoid potential income tax increases because he now a 1%er, or
2) take the annual payout of $7,000,0000 after 40% annual income tax and collect $202 million but risk tax increase.
He could have also created a trust so that in the event of his death if he doesn’t live the next 29 years it could go to the trust and distributed per his wishes.
Bottom line is his return on investment over 29 years on the annual payment will exceed and investment of the lump sum payout unless he goes high risk IMHO
2) take
Typos are what I get from posting from my iPhone.
His troubles and problems have only just begun; he has no idea of what’s ahead.
The American dream used to be work hard, pay taxes, save and you will get ahead. Now it is win the lottery. A heck of a lot more people could do the former.
I don’t know about NJ, but in NY if the ticket is purchased there, you pay their tax.

You can be in this Country “legally” without being a Citizen.
Being an Illegal Invader is something entirely different.
