Fox News contributor John R. Lott Jr., author of the book, More Guns, Less Crime, will present a lecture on gun control and crime at Dickinson College.
Lott, who also has appeared on the ABC and NBC evening news, PBS NewsHour and the "Today" show on NBC, will argue that crime rates fall, when law-abiding people are armed and can defend themselves.
He also will share his opinion on gun-control laws and the relationship among guns, crimes and violence, according to a news release from the college.
Lott is an economist and educator who has authored seven books.
The event is free and open to the public.
Dickinson prohibits the possession of firearms on campus.

IF YOU GO:
WHAT: John R. Lott Jr.'s lecture on gun control and crime.
WHEN: 7 p.m. on April 1.
WHERE: Dickinson College, Stern Center, Great Room, 208 W. Louther St., Carlisle.
Wish I was near there I would go see him.
Agreed. IF, the college crowd allows him to speak. In my college days, 81-84, it was a place to choose your side of a topic and defend it in a factual way. Nowadays, if you stray off the liberal farm, you're vilified and shouted down.
Higher education my arse.
