If a drunk girl demands to be allowed to do something unwise, are the people around her allowed to physically restrain her from her unwisdom? Because that's what it would have taken: use of physical force against the football players AND the girl.

Another complicating factor was that calling the police would result in their officially taking notice of the underage drinking at the party.

Steubenville is a river town. Football is king. I think all (21?)coaches should be investigated. As well as all the LE agencies in Jefferson County. Investigated by the FBI that is.
