Sasha and Malia Obama are quietly vacationing at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, Breitbart News has learned.
A source tipped Breitbart News off to the First Daughters’ spring vacation, which was not publicly announced or reported.
Breitbart subsequently confirmed President Barack Obama’s daughters’ trip with other sources. Both the White House and the Atlantis resort declined to confirm the report or comment, but another guest provided a photograph of Sasha and Malia at the resort.
Social media, including Twitter and Facebook, have also carried reports of the First Daughters' presence at Atlantis. One person who is at the resort wrote: “Rumor confirmed: friends saw the first daughters with a gaggle of friends being escorted to the held elevator.”
Via Twitter, another person wrote: “Obama daughters at the same restaurant as me...in the bahamas.”

Somehow I thought I read that Malia went to Mexico for spring break with Michelle, 12 friends from school and their families. Did she go to both Mexico AND the Bahamas?

Two of my daughters are the same age as the Obamas', and their grandmother plans to take them to Europe later this year.

Only the 1%. My mother, an experienced tourist of Europe, will choose a reasonably-priced hotel near public transportation.
It’s bad enough that the Obama females are vacationing on our dime, but once again, they’ve brought a bunch of freeloading friends along with them.

You might recall that initial stories about it were ‘scrubbed’ from the internet in a few hours.
Apparently the NY Times has no problem publishing secrets about our surveillance programs...but a story about Malia’s travels is a bridge too far for them.
As somebody said before, this is all done on purpose, as an "in your face!" to those of us with European bloodlines.
A few years ago we stayed at the towers in a small room and were told that those in the bridge suite paid a minimum of 250K for 4 day weekends, IIRC.
How did they fly there when air traffic controllers have been all laid off?? Oh. Yeah. Right. They have Air Force one.
My two older boys would love to have a quick Bahamas vacation! I’ll just make the secret service take them there! Oh. Wait. We don’t have secret service protection. Never mind.

He makes $400,000 per year. There is no way he is paying for it, regardless of the entourage.
He might if it were the only vacation his family had taken this year or the past few, but no way. It’s about $800 per night per person just for the hotel.
The American public does not elect the pres and pay his salary in order to send his daughters, excuse me, the princesses, to resorts. It’s just not part of the job description that it is in any way necessary.
We need to have this info ready, as we are the new media. If we’re quiet about it, then we consent. If we’re quiet because we don’t know, then we’re going to have to make it our business to know.

It certainly doesn't look good in a period of austerity.
I'm not a big fan of kids that age traveling off without their parents. Parents and children have a limited time together before adulthood, but that's the parents' business, not mine.
On the other hand, I'm uncomfortable about making kids into a political issue.
And most all politicians, especially presidents, live like a privileged class, not just Obama.
