Yea, and as a benefit, once they are gun owners there’s at least a chance that they will be reachable otherwise, since, as the politicians well know, gun owners are often SINGLE ISSUE voters - who will vote to protect their rights over ANYTHING ELSE a candidate might stand for.

The cost of a nice gun may be an issue. Who will be the first to propose a Federal "Supplemental Firearms Program" (SFP) to help poor Americans purchase guns?
