The U.S. military fought in South East Asia for ten years with everything at its disposal and what did it get us?

We court in Iraq and Afghanistan for How long and what did it get us?

Both of those wars were fought against an external source of supply, the Soviets in Vietnam and the Iranians in Afghanistan. Fighting the long guerrilla war without functional communications, a command structure, or extensive cached supplies, and against an enemy surely willing to use biological weapons and drug gangs is not a pretty prospect.

These politicians fail to learn the lessons of history that you cannot win a guerrilla war when the populace sides with the guerrillas.

No, I think it is you who has failed to learn the lesson of history. The better analogy to the war you envision is the American Indian. They lost, utterly. You are also failing to learn the lesson of the Torah, for we were instructed not to be so tolerant of evil in our midst, not to mention the logistical preparations found in Exodus and Leviticus.

I think may reading your post will fail to understand your points - particularity that of the importance of logistics in winning wars. Most of FRs posturing about their abilities and proficiencies with small arms have no experience against heavy weapons.

Never does the thought of food, clothing and all the necessities logistically needed to sustain any form of guerrilla war cross their minds.

When items like food become scarce, they imagine they will just shoot a deer or two, failing to understand just how rapidly that resource will disappear once every one has the same idea in their area.

Just the action of going to an area where deer are, will expose them to overhead surveillance and any appropriate action ...

Gardens require open areas. How will they attend their crops unseen?

Yes, but it took over 200 years of fighting before they finally were defeated.

Don't forget the ham-stringing by our own govt.
